QA/QC Analyst needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Davis, CA. The Big Picture - Top Skills You Should Possess:- Maintain a clean and safe work area. - Analyze data and input results in a LIMS system. - Perform routine assays to characterize the chemical nature (HPLC-MS) of Agricultural products. What You'll Be Doing:- We are seeking to fill a temporary
position
within our Chemistry group. - The R and D specialist will be responsible for executing qualified analytical assays and data management. - A successful candidate will be self-motivated, work well in both independent and group settings, quickly adapt to changing situations and possess a willingness to learn. - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Perform all aspects of high throughput HPLC assays following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). - Manage internal customer expectations with daily interactions (verbal and written) with colleagues from groups external to chemistry. - Schedule daily, weekly and monthly job-related tasks for two analysts. - Troubleshooting HPLC systems and robotics equipment. - Mange the review and documentation process for the assigned assays. - Support Company's position of preventing harassment - Treat co-workers with respect and dignity - Abide by all safety policies. What You Need to Bring to the Table:- Knowledge of general chemistry concepts - Basic mathematic principles - Microsoft 2010 suite of programs including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. - Strong organizational, problem solving, and time-management skills - Good oral and written communication skills - Practical experience with HPLC troubleshooting - General chemistry skills including; - Preparation of solvents - Serial dilutions - Working with general lab equipment - pH meters - Stirrers - Vortex mixers - Flexible and quick to learn new concepts - Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form - Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment - Effectively organize, prioritize and follow-up on work assignments - Maintain accurate records - Professional and confidential - Work independently and as a member of a team - Establish and maintain effective working relationships Bonus Points! Qualifications:- B.S. in Chemistry or related field - Three to five (3-5) years of analytical chemistry experience required - Experience with routine HPLC chemical assays is required. - Experience with AB Sciex instruments is highly desirable. - Applicants with Quality Control experience will be given special preference.
