Associate Director Of Development, College Letters & Science

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for College Relations and Development, designs, develops, delivers, and administers fundraising programs.
Identifies new donor prospects by researching background information on potential donors. Develops materials and, marketing plans, and organizes related programs/events; cultivates, stewards, and solicits donor prospects.
Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the major gifts level, including managing a portfolio of donors capable of giving $50K or more.
Attends functions and meetings and serve on internal/external committees as a campus representative.
Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established according to fundraiser specialization.
Physical Demands:
Stand for extended periods of time during events.
Lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two years of professional or volunteer fundraising experience involving managing a major gift portfolio and securing major gifts of $50,000 or more; or equivalent transferrable professional experience preferably in higher education, including knowledge of proven cultivation and solicitation.
Experience working in a metrics fundraising environment with the skill to meet or exceed fundraising goals and objectives.
Experience in all aspects of donor and public relations including advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, et cetera.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills.
Advanced skill to meet predetermined goals and objectives through effective program/project planning, organization, execution and evaluation.
Advanced ability in making persuasive and compelling presentation of campus objectives and securing major gifts.
Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and problem recognition/avoidance/ resolution skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of the university, its achievements, vision, mission, goals, objectives, applicable policies, infrastructure and current issues of concern and knowledge of issues of concern for higher education generally.
Knowledge of the academic programs and disciplines in the liberal arts and sciences, including fundraising priorities set for by the Dean.
Political acumen skills, to build and maintain effective working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.
