Experience:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level) that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized experience is defined as performing basic investigative assignments requiring the skill to apply standard investigative principles and techniques performing compliance assignments, receiving guidance and detailed instructions from higher grade investigators OR Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.):
Completion of all academic requirements for a bachelor's degree in any field which meets on of the following:

A standing in the upper third of the graduating class or major subdivision such as a school of agriculture or school of business at the time of application.- Grade Point Average (GPA):
A GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; or a GPA of 3.6 or higher out of 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of curriculum.- Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society (other than freshmen societies) that meet the requirements of the Association of College Honor Societies OR One full academic year of progressively higher level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study that is related to the work of the position, and that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work OR A combination of education and experience listed above and the total percentage must equal at least 100%. You may start at the GS-09 level if you have the following
Qualifications:
Successful completion of at least two full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's equivalent graduate degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study in business administration, economics, agricultural economics, agriculture, farm management, criminal justice or law; that is related to the work of the position, and that demonstrates the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position; OR One full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 level in the Federal Service (or private sector equivalent). Specialized experience may be credited for work performed as an advanced trainee or assistant who works on segments of investigative assignments, receives detailed instructions and completed work is reviewed to assess the progress, determine the need for instruction, and evaluate the technical accuracy and adequacy of work; OR A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that qualified for this position. Only graduate education in excess of the first year (18 semester hours) may be combined with experience under this standard. You may start at the GS-11 level if you have the following
Qualifications:
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a field of study in business administration, economics, agricultural economics, agriculture, farm management, criminal justice or law; that is related to the work of the position, and that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR One full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal Service (or private sector equivalent). Specialized experience is described as:
Independently performing a full range of investigative functions for assigned cases or portions of cases, from planning through fact-finding to reporting the results of investigations, where assignments involve clear-cut instructions and operating guidelines, seeking advice when encountering situations that require significant deviation from instructions and operating procedures.; OR A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that qualified for this position. Only graduate education in excess of the second year (36 semester hours) may be combined with experience under this standard. You may start at the GS-12 level if you have the following
Qualifications:
One full-time year (12 months) of specialized work experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service (or private sector equivalent). Specialized experience may be credited for work performed independently performing complex investigative assignments for government subsidized agricultural insurance or reinsurance programs, sufficient to perform the planning, conducting and reporting aspects of compliance reviews and investigations. Missing education may not be substituted for experience at the GS-12 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
